The Cleveland Indians have won four in a row and just completed a sweep of the Phillies.
Wait a minute...they did what?
It's been a while since we've been able to say those words, but the Cleveland offense erupted again today in a...different kind of way after they smashed 7 home runs in a 14-2 rout just the day before against former Cy Young winner Roy Halladay.
Trevor Bauer was shaky over his five innings worked, walking six, and striking out five. Bauer is still looking for a grasp on his command, but he was able to work out of plenty of jams to secure his first win in the American league. Cliff Lee on the other hand, was not as fortunate. The former Indian and Cy Young award winner allowed five runs over six innings. He gave up no home runs, but was plagued by the Indians "small ball" as there were more than five infield singles. The Indians were able to capitalize on Lee's walks, which he seldom issues, and scored every time a batter was walked tonight.
Ryan Raburn can eliminate the nick name "Mr. March" as he stays red hot, having another 4-5 performance tonight. He is 12 for his last 14, which is simply incredible.
Asdrubal Cabrera and Ryan Raburn had two RBI's each, while Mike Aviles and Drew Stubbs both contributed an RBI. Trevor Bauer, Bryan Shaw, Rich Hill, and Cody Allen combined for the shut out tonight, as the tribe now moves to 12-13 on the year.
The Indians have an off day tomorrow, and then continue their home stand against the Minnesota Twins on Friday, and look to climb even higher in the AL Central race.
Ryan Raburn is sizzling hot, stroking 12 hits over his last 14 at bats. |
