May 6th, Power surge!

Cleveland Indians vs. Oakland Athletics

Cleveland 7, Oakland 3

W: Jimenez (2-2)
L:  Parker (1-5)

Top performers

Cabrera (2-4, 2HR, 2RBI) Kipnis (1-5, HR, RBI) Reynolds (1-2, HR, BB, RBI) Giambi (2-4, 2B, 2RBI) Raburn (1-3, 2B, RBI)

The Indians bats came to town last night, as they pummeled the Athletics for four solo home runs in a 7-3 victory. Mark Reynolds, who was drilled by a pitch, got sweet redemption as he teed off on a pitch that landed almost at the edge of the bleachers.  Ubaldo Jimenez is starting to show consistency, and he went 5 and two thirds innings while striking out a season high 10, and only allowing two earned runs.

Mark Reynolds knew it was long gone
The Indians have now won 7 of their last 8.  Michael Bourn made a rehab assignement for the Columbus Clippers and could be back in time for the Detroit series, which would be a huge boost for the team.
Tonight, Zach McCallister takes the mound for the Tribe as they look to win their second straight in this series.
